Import Contacts

Pressmachine includes a powerful import tool for media contacts and distribution lists. The system supports imports from a number of different types of spreadsheets from, for example, excel (xlsx, xsl, csv). Follow the steps below for a successful import!

Step 1: Go to the import page https://www.newsmachine.com/press/distrib/journalists/import

Step 2: Choose the one of our import templates that best matches your needs. Paste your contact list and make sure the column names match the content. That is, in the column with the name E-mail, there must be an e-mail address in each column in that column.

Step 3: Select file and then press upload, the system will now verify that all fields are correct. If you have a lot of contacts (tens of thousands), this can take up to 5 minutes, so feel free to go and have a coffee.

Step 4: When the verification is complete, you will get a preview of the rows and columns where the import was successful. You can then choose to go back to correct any errors or proceed to the next step.

Step 5: Select import settings, for most the default ones work great. If you want more control over your contacts, you can create a new contact instead of using our existing ones, feel free to ask us if you are unsure what suits you best.

Step 6: Press validate and your new contacts will soon appear in your distribution lists!
