Service usage data is partially logged in order to give support and debug problems.


Consent to Collect

We collect data from users that have created accounts with us, free as well as paid.

During account creation we request consent from you to process the above information. Consent is confirmed with a checkbox, after you have been given a chance to read the terms and conditions. Consent can also be confirmed via phone, email or traditional mail. A link to this privacy policy is provided during account creation. Information on data protection and consent is also to be found in our general terms and conditions.

The legal basis for us to collect the data is to be able to provide you with our service.



if you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

NewsMachine will keep identifiable data for an undetermined amount of time or until the user asks us to anonymize and / or delete his data.

For users of our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. For users that get get accounts through written contracts with their organization, the information provided in the contract is also stored in their user profile.


What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

NewsMachine & PressMachine relies primarily on servers owned and operated by ourselves to maintain its our services. We never share or resell any of our data. Our servers are located in Europe, Stockholm, Sweden.

In addition we use a limited amount of third party services to operate our business.

Who has access to our Data?

Data at NewsMachine is not shared or sold with any third party.

We rarely use contractors but if we do contractors are requested to delete this data at the end of their mission.


How we protect your data

All servers are located in physically safe premises, with round-the-clock surveillance. The servers are protected by security and access control with logging for physical access. Our methods of data protection in the configuration and maintenance of our servers are in accordance with the requirements set out in the Data Protection Regulation.
