Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your NewsMachine account. Once you have enabled 2FA, you will need both your password and an authentication code (from an app) to log in. Follow the steps below to set up 2FA.

  • A NewsMachine account
  • A smartphone with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or YubiKey installed

1. visit the NewsMachine login page

To begin, go to the NewsMachine login page: https://www.newsmachine.com/loginpage

2. Log in with Your Username and Password

Enter your email address and password to log in to your account. If you are encountering issues logging in, clear your browser’s cache or visit this logout link(https://market.newsmachine.com/logout) to ensure no old sessions are causing issues.

5. Scan the QR code

On the NewsMachine 2FA settings page, you will see a QR code. Open your authenticator app, find “scan a QR code” in the settings, click on it and scan the QR code with your phone’s camera.

6. Enter the verification code

After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will generate a unique code every few seconds.

  • Enter this 6-digit code in the “Verification code” field on the NewsMachine page.
  • Click on Verify.

7. Complete the configuration

Once your code has been verified, click Complete Configuration.

8. Save backup codes

As part of the process, you will receive backup codes. These codes are useful if you lose access to your authenticator app.

  • Important: Save and print these codes, then store them securely.

Backing up your passwords and 2FA keys is crucial to protect you from data loss. The best way is to use a dedicated password manager that offers encrypted backups. Avoid storing your passwords in unencrypted files or sharing them with others.

9. Log in with 2FA

The next time you log in to your account, you will be asked:

  • Your password
  • A verification code from your authenticator app.

This ensures that only you can access your account, even if someone knows your password.

  • Authenticator apps: We recommend using Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. These apps are secure and widely used for 2FA.
  • Backup codes: Make sure to keep your backup codes safe, as they can help you regain access to your account if you lose your phone or can’t use the authenticator app.
  • YubiKey: If you prefer a hardware-based 2FA, you can use a YubiKey device.
